I read an interesting journal defining the meaning of INDI musician.

The way the author explains what INDI is using Yuna's name came home to my heart, and i'd like to share it with my bad English.

What is the indi musician?

좀 더 진지하게 묻는 사람들에게는 “김연아가 바로 인디”라고 답한다. 온갖 광고에 출연하고 ‘매니지먼트가 어디냐’ ‘코치를 누구로 바꾸냐’ 하는 문제까지 회자되는 김연아의 모습은 물론 메이저 상업 음반이다. 그것도 엄청나게 성공한 음반 말이다. 하지만 불과 몇 년 전, 아무도 한국 피겨스케이팅을 진지하게 생각하지 않을 무렵 어머니와 단둘이서 짐가방을 질질 끌면서 국제대회에 참가하던 김연아는 인디펜던트다. 좋아하는 것을 하기 위해 어디에도 의존(dependent)하지 않았기 때문.

To the people who ask more seriously, I answer "Kim Yuna Is the INDI."  She appears in all the commercials, even the things like 'which is her agency', 'who's her new coach' become the topics of conversation, that image of Kim Yuna is of course a Major commercial album – and the immensly succeeded one at that. But Kim Yuna who participated in international events alone dragging her carrage only with her mother when nobody took Korean figure skating seriously, that Kim Yuna is INDEPENDANT. Becuase she never has been dependant on anything in pursuing what she really likes to do.
