Practice Cam – 2007. Jan. Winter Sports Festival

It's the practice clip taken while she was injured back in January 2007, after winning the first GPF title and before the Japan Worlds 2007, uploaded by a fan recently. She considered withdrawing the event – Korea Winter Festival 2007 – but had to compete back then as you can see her struggling with back pain time to time in the video.

Anyway, it's a rare video, though rare videos like this are not always delightful, it's good to know her path through the hard times.

Asia’s Icon

S. Korea’s ‘Girl Power’

With a myriad of female successes, 2010 gave many Korean women a reason to celebrate considering that Korea remains a male-dominated Confucian society.

That makes Kim Yu-Na, the U-17 women’s soccer team and Girls’ Generation’s achievements all the more commendable.

Kim dominated the figure skating scene, holding records for the highest points in short program, free skating and overall points.

Kim won gold for her performances in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, the second Asian to do so in figure skating. She also holds the title for the 2009 Grand Prix.
